The Clair/Obscur series comprises fifteen black-and-white photographs. Conceived by Gilles Dallière around the theme of encounters between opposing forces that attract one another, the images explore a dialogue in which nature and architecture become accomplices, bound by a quiet complicity. Through a subtle interplay of superimposition, distortion and transformation, the photographer creates what he describes as “an in-between world.”

If he had to start his life over, he would start with photography. It was late in life that Gilles Dallière devoted himself to it and now devotes himself to it every day.

He exhibits at Mestiers at 9 rue Francoeur in the Montmartre district of Paris.
