Mestiers is a Paris-based brand dedicated to craftsmanship in service of a refined way of life.

Born from a deep-rooted expertise in handmade goods, Mestiers designs timeless clothing and homeware. Every collection is crafted in small, specialized, family-run workshops that preserve the artisanal spirit we deeply value.

At the heart of our vision is a mission to protect and celebrate traditional craft — a quest for beauty that can only be achieved through a commitment to quality and sustainability.

When we launched Mestiers, we took the time to reflect on the role of objects — including clothing — in our lives, and the personal relationships we form with them.

This ongoing reflection guides our creative process: from material sourcing and studio selection to packaging decisions and aesthetic expression.

The object, an expression of Art de vivre

At Mestiers, we see every object as more than a functional piece — it’s a cultural artefact. Objects have the extraordinary ability to express both a collective heritage and a personal sensitivity. They tell the story of who we are as a society, while revealing who we are as individuals.

Each piece reflects our vision of art de vivre: the art of welcoming, of eating well, of celebrating, of caring for ourselves, and of presenting ourselves — first to ourselves, then to others.

Our garments and objects embody our experiences and personal narratives across the two countries where we produce them. The workshops we collaborate with are chosen for their ability to translate this vision into matter — to give tangible form to a way of living.

The Pursuit of Radiance

Why are we drawn to certain objects? Why do we cherish some possessions with the hope they’ll stay with us forever? Setting aside price tags and brand mythology — and even the emotional power of gifts — what remains is a mysterious quality we call radiance.

At Mestiers, we believe radiant objects are the ones we love most. This belief is the starting point of every creation. We design clothing and homeware that radiate — beauty, care, and intention.

Such radiance is only possible through the highest standards: noble materials, refined craftsmanship, and design excellence. A radiant piece depends on everything — cut, proportion, construction — working in harmony. When it does, beauty emanates. Sustainability naturally follows. No synthetic fiber catches light like a fine wool. No overproduction in a human-scale workshop. No fast-paced collection churn when you prioritize prototyping and timelessness. And above all, we commit to making objects so beautiful and well-crafted that you’ll want to care for them — and keep them — for years to come.

The Workshop: A Place of Sound and Experimentation

Every Mestiers creation begins with a meeting with a craft, a material, and the desire to explore its possibilities. After in-depth research comes the meeting with the artisan, in the heart of their workshop.

A workshop is first and foremost a soundscape: the deep percussion of looms, the sharper rhythms of copper work, the physicality of leather tanning. Softer sounds, too — the slicing of tailor’s scissors, the sanding of wood, the hum of sewing machines. And always, somewhere in the background, the latest song on the radio.

In Italian, a workshop is called a “laboratorio” — a fitting term. For us, experimentation means learning a new skill, a new vocabulary, a new way of sketching. For artisans, especially when it comes to special requests, it opens up space for innovation, hybridization, and technical breakthroughs.

We personally visit all our workshops before starting any collaboration. Many are certified by the most respected labels in the field — from Entreprise du Patrimoine Vivant and Ateliers d’Art de France, to Masters of LinenEgyptian Cotton AssociationOeko-TexGOTS, and GRS.
